Enugu Rangers coach Charles Offodile is recuperating in hospital after he was shot by unknown gunmen in Enugu on Monday evening.
Foster Chime, the Flying Antelopes' Director of Media and Publicity, who confirmed the incident to Goal, said the coach is responding well to treatment in an Enugu hospital.
“He was shot in his ankle area but I want to tell you that police have assured that all will be well,”
Chime disclosed to Goal.
“He is recuperating fine and responding to treatment. Rangers management has visited him already and they have shown their support to him. We are yet to get what transpired between him and his assailants but the case has been reported to the police and they are on top of the situation.”
Chime also told Goal that the trainer who was with the Coal City side when they travelled to Aba to face Enyimba two weeks ago didn't make the trip to Port Harcourt where they were held to a 1-1 draw by Sharks.
He was not in the team that travelled to Abuja shortly after the draw in Port Harcourt on Monday for their Federation Cup quarter final duel with El Kanemi Warriors slated for Wednesday
