Fani-Kayode Speaks On How US Helped Boko Haram Penetrate Nigeria

The spokesperson of the 2015 PDP presidential campaign organisation also berated the government led by Barrack Obama for refusing to sell arms to Nigeria in the fight against the insurgents. According to him, the government wasn’t able to buy arms from either the United States or any of

her allies because of the international arms embargo it places on Nigeria.
“The U.S. govt. helped Boko Haram immensly by refusing to classify them as a terrorist organisation until 2014 and by refusing to sell us arms to fight them,”Fani-Kayode posted on his Twitter.
He added: “Worst still, they imposed an international arms embargo on us so that we could not buy arms from anyone else.”
Boko Haram has killed over 10,000 people since 2009 and has also kidnapped hundreds of girls and women.
During his recent official visit to Obama, President Muhammadu Buhari warned that the US has “aided and abetted” the Boko Haram militant group by refusing to provide weapons to Nigeria.
