SUNDAY DIGEST: why did God strike Uzzah, when it seems he was preventing the ark of God from falling?

Ordinarily it seems God was cruel in his judgement, hence the question, Why was the man who touched the ark  to keep it from falling killed by God? Wouldn't it just be a instinctive response to grasp something that was about to fall? It seems so cruel that God would do this.

Bible Answer: The event that you are
referring to is found in 2 Samuel 6:3-8 and in 1 Chronicles 13:6-12.

The ark of God was one of those holy objects in the Tabernacle that the Israelites were instructed  by God not to see or touch during the time of Moses (Num 4:4-6, 15-20)
This also implies that, God can fight his battle, He does not need man to fight for Him but hold his peace.
Today churches use metal detector on worshippers before allowing them enter the church, one thing they fail to know is that God is capable of protecting His church and does not need man or metal detector to do that for Him.
I employ you therefore to have faith in God in whatever you are going through because GOD IS MORE THAN CAPABLE...
